Analytical documentation
What a batch-specific COA can—and cannot—show
A useful report should identify the material and batch, name the issuing laboratory, state the analytical method and separate identity from purity or other test scopes.
- Match the report identifier to the batch being supplied.
- Check who generated the result and whether the laboratory is independent of the manufacturer.
- Review the method, result, test date and limitations rather than relying on a headline percentage.
- Do not treat one analytical result as proof of every quality attribute.
